Free music at Marriage with License

Very few people in India are aware that playing music in Marriage or related events are subject to Copyright. Hence, almost in every marriage we are violating copyright of the music owners.

So shall we stop dancing at "nagin" dhun?

No!! Performer Rights Society do not charge any Royalty or fee at Marriage or related events and if any person ask for royalty then the song player may visit to Performers Society. All is needed to apply to the Indian Performing Rights Society Limited for license and it is alloted free of cost without any license fee or royalty.

Online submission of Literary/Dramatic and Artistic works

Online Copyright Registration

If Copyright registration or your Client is pending because the work has not been received to the Copyright Department till date then this news is perfectly for you.

Copyright Department taking a leap step in the process of registration of Copyright have provided facility to upload soft copies of Literary/Dramatic and Artistic Works online. It is to be noted that earlier the Applicant were required to submit the copies of work physically to the Copyright Department.

After the integration of Copyright Department with the DIPP this is the most welcome step which will decrease the time taken in delivery of Works to the Copyright Department. In the public notice dated 17th January, 2019 (No. 10-03/2019-CO) have informed the public that Applicants desirous of submitting their Literary/Dramatic and Artistic works and other related documents online, may, after making the payment of fees, upload a copy of their Literary/Dramatic and Artistic works (in original colour scheme) and related documents using e-filing module of the Copyright Office website.
